Dr. Erin Ruth Baker, Director |
Jamie Gahtan |
Dr. Erin Baker is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology and Methodology at the University at Albany (SUNY). Erin has spent over a decade studying child development across urban and rural locations across the United States. Dr. Baker holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology (2016) and a M.S. in Experimental Psychology (2011). In their spare time, Erin enjoys traveling, rock climbing, painting, and video games.

Jamie is currently in her third year in the Educational Psychology and Methodology Ph.D. program at UAlbany. Her research interests include how our environment helps to shape our understanding of the social world and our understanding of the boundaries of ethics. In her free time, Jamie enjoys making wheel-thrown pottery, hiking, exploring new places, and cooking.

Sojung Park |
Sumaita (Saba) is in her second year of the Educational Psychology and Methodology Ph.D. program at UAlbany and is primarily interested in researching cultural aspects and LGBTQ+ parenting practices in the context of environmental adversity. She has completed her B.S. in Psychology and M.S. in Educational Psychology from University of Dhaka (Bangladesh). As a plant mom, she spends her free time indoor gardening.

Sojung is a second-year student in the Educational Psychology and Methodology Ph.D. program at UAlbany. Her research interests center on children's emotional and cognitive development and environmental and cultural factors. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with family, playing the violin and piano, and hiking.

Dr. Joanna Weaver
Dr. Weaver is a 2019 PhD graduate in Educational Psychology and Methodology at UAlbany. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University.
Dr. Rong Huang
Dr. Huang is a 2022 PhD graduate in Educational Psychology and Methodology at UAlbany. She is currently a post-doc at UConn training under Dr. Rachel Cohen in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies.
Qingyang Liu
Qingyang Liu is 2021 alum from the MS in Eductional Psychology and Methodology program at UAlbany. She is currently a doctoral student in the Department of Human Development and Family Science at Syracuse University training under Dr. Rachel Razza.
Lab Activities away from campus
(Above) Dr. Baker joins colleagues Dr. Zehra Kaya and Dr. Anica Mulzac in Washington D.C. as a part of the American Psychological Association's (APA) Minority Research Fellowship (2019 cohort). On this day, they spoke with U.S. Senator Charles Schumer, and other senators representing New York state, to advocate for continued funding for APA resources.
